on wedsnesday chinese newspaper the dou hao ban, if ur sch orders it,
there was a section about sex predators in audition

The set-up

Once in the lab you are told the experiment is about how your expectations affect the actual experience of a task. Apparently there are two groups and in the other group they have been given a particular expectation about the study. To instil the expectation subtly, the participants in the other groups are informally briefed by a student who has apparently just completed the task. In your group, though, you'll do the task with no expectations.

Perhaps you wonder why you're being told all this, but nevertheless it makes it seem a bit more exciting now that you know some of the mechanics behind the experiment.

So you settle down to the first task you are given, and quickly realise it is extremely boring. You are asked to move some spools around in a box for half an hour, then for the next half an hour you move pegs around a board. Frankly, watching paint dry would have been preferable.

At the end of the tasks the experimenter thanks you for taking part, then tells you that many other people find the task pretty interesting. This is a little confusing - the task was very boring. Whatever. You let it pass.

Experimental slip-up

Then the experimenter looks a little embarrassed and starts to explain haltingly that there's been a cock-up. He says they need your help. The participant coming in after you is in the other condition they mentioned before you did the task - the condition in which they have an expectation before carrying out the task. This expectation is that the task is actually really interesting. Unfortunately the person who usually sets up their expectation hasn't turned up.

So, they ask if you wouldn't mind doing it. Not only that but they offer to pay you $1. Because it's 1959 and you're a student this is not completely insignificant for only a few minutes work. And, they tell you that they can use you again in the future. It sounds like easy money so you agree to take part. This is great - what started out as a simple fulfilment of a course component has unearthed a little ready cash for you.

You are quickly introduced to the next participant who is about to do the same task you just completed. As instructed you tell her that the task she's about to do is really interesting. She smiles, thanks you and disappears off into the test room. You feel a pang of regret for getting her hopes up. Then the experimenter returns, thanks you again, and once again tells you that many people enjoy the task and hopes you found it interesting.

Then you are ushered through to another room where you are interviewed about the experiment you've just done. One of the questions asks you about how interesting the task was that you were given to do. This makes you pause for a minute and think.

Now it seems to you that the task wasn't as boring as you first thought. You start to see how even the repetitive movements of the spools and pegs had a certain symmetrical beauty. And it was all in the name of science after all. This was a worthwhile endeavour and you hope the experimenters get some interesting results out of it.

The task still couldn't be classified as great fun, but perhaps it wasn't that bad. You figure that, on reflection, it wasn't as bad as you first thought. You rate it moderately interesting.

After the experiment you go and talk to your friend who was also doing the experiment. Comparing notes you found that your experiences were almost identical except for one vital difference. She was offered way more than you to brief the next student: $20! This is when it first occurs to you that there's been some trickery at work here.

You ask her about the task with the spools and pegs:

"Oh," she replies. "That was sooooo boring, I gave it the lowest rating possible."

"No," you insist. "It wasn't that bad. Actually when you think about it, it was pretty interesting."

She looks at you incredulously.

made slight changes to the rules
now anyone can initiate fam battles with other people
one point is that well
if u lose it's ok
but dont play with the same people and keep losing so many times o.o

then now
it is acceptable for people without the -Kage- name to join our fam
fam will be like a sub extension of the guild itself
however the main difference is that to join fam without changing nick
they will need to take a different test.
they will need to pass according to this:

please bring about, say, $40.( you can bring more if you want haha )
and bring exact amount for movie tickets to avoid troublesome things. i'm not too sure about the price. but it should be either $7 , $ 7.90 or $8.50. the snacks are around. uhh. $7 to $9. so plan your own budget.

i have made some changes
namely

1. removal of warning point system, seeing as there's not many troublemakers

2. addition of new rules
2.1 NO initiation of FAM battles with other FAM without the permission of the leaders or the recruiters
2.2 Expulsion can be done at any point in time by the leaders only. This rule is to take over the warning point system
- currently these are the changes. maybe more will come up once i though of them

now about outing

basically. watch movie. what movie do you ask?
i got some suggestions la. if it's a movie outing, then the movie will be decided by the more popular one

i believe many of us celebrate teachers day today in advance
so this post is going to be about teachers
100th post at least must be meaningful lol

a teacher is a person who teach or educates someone, giving that person knowledge
what kind of knowledge u may ask
i leave it to you
it may be in the form of essays or maybe even one short sentence
( ps. its my own definition so its a bit substandard)

teachers day is a day where students show their appreciation for their teachers
once a year
so during teachers day
i think most schools will have concerts and parties and other stuff
but i strongly believe that teachers day is more than entertaining teachers with dance and songs
its a day where we really tell teachers how much they mean to us, as an educator and facilitator
but its not the only day we can do so
its the same concept as you can give presents to people anytime u want

teachers are human
although some of them cant really teach ( i had experiences with some )
we should be understanding towards them
theyre funny at times and theyre willing to repeat over and over again when students dont understand concepts ( or maybe its just my math teacher )

so here
i wanna thank all school teachers in the world for being who they are
and on a side note
i also wanna say thank you to all those(regardless of who they are) who taught me something ( heck what it is )

yesterday was the guild outing

i be frank with u all
it was pathetic

im grateful to those that went ( the few that did )
although i must say that punctuality is very important in society

i am very very disappointed in all those that did not go for the outing
a guild outing is not a monthly affair
its like, just 2 to 4 times a year
it is a rare opportunity to meet up with your fellow guildmates and interact with them
IN REAL LIFE

and yet, what did i see yesterday?
less than 5 people ( excluding me ) went
it is very saddening

some people say, hey i got cca i got camp i got school stuff my parents dont allow
camp and school stuff and parents not allowing, i got nothing to say

some people want an outing so i shall anyhow organise one

i was thinking about a bunk outing in week 2 date not settled yet
the time im not so sure coz some of my own frens oso going bunk
but dont worry they wont eat u up

the main one will be going bunk playing audi i guess

we continue recruiting people
but for FAM, old members get priority over new members
and if they join FAM, must donate ( extremely generously )
then the tests will still be the same
the rules will still be the same
then even if some people are not in FAM but in -Kage-
they still are -Kage- members

after 3 posts of FAM stuff
well,
kage's FAM is up and running
but we're only able to take in 10 ppl
minus 1 for the ldr,
which is knight,
theres only 9 slots left.
so idk who knight's gona inv in.

when most of us are able to go on9.

erm yeah
i think i'll elaborate on winter's post
so its like this

FAM cost a bomb. literally. so 1 million to create FAM. 10 members only
we have around 50 members ( with some slots open )
and expansion need around 7 million if im not wrong
and we dont know once expand is add how many slots la
so take it as 10 slots
7 million x 4 = 28 million dens
28mil + 1 mil = 29 million. round off 30 million dens
thats the amount needed before the whole guild in the same FAM

and the part where -Kage- isnt accepted as guild name is ridiculous la
so this part, currently working on it.
frankly i oso dunno what to do for this

k. if cannot get enough dens for FAM, i was thinking of
splitting the guild into several smaller groups.
so like -Kage-, -Kage-1, - Kage-2,
u get the point
coz its cheaper this way
but its stilll under consideration

i prefer us to be known as one guild, and not one guild in several smaller groups

any suggestions gladly welcomed

me and knight decided not to create FAM for the time being.
cause somehow the name 'Kage' or '-Kage-' cant be used as a FAM name
and theres no way we're gona change the guild name to sth else
so we'll wait till after mid year

yo all
im sure most of you guys know that the guild system in audition is coming up tmr
for those who dont, check the audition website

so basically there are some issues at hand
and im going to elaborate on them la

1. not enough dens
i've checked forums and it seems that most likely will need dens to make guild
1 million dens to be exact. and thats where the problem lies. cause i dont have 1 million. i have around 600k. and dens cant be transferred in audition which makes the problem even worse.

2. membership
this is regarding the situation in which the guild is made and there are not enough slots for all the current members to join. coz expansion of guild need around 7 million if im not wrong la. then in this case, priority will be given to those who plays more often. and those who havent played for very very very very very long will most likely be kicked out.
i dont think theres much to worry about for this case la. coz i heard starting member slots is 50. and i think we have less than 50 members, ( i think our list is slightly outdated ) but dont worry la. we will onli do the kicking thing only when we really really cannot do much about it.

in conclusion, dont worry so much la. i'll be the one doing most of the worrying.
so for -Kage-, the guild thing may not be very fast, as i need to raise the dens ( if its dens ) and its the mid years soon.
of course if its acash, then i'll buy the cash lor. lols. anyway dont worry so much.
and hopefully some rich person doesnt make a guild called -Kage- too.

from 20th april till 10th may, all guild activities will be stopped including recruitment in view of the on-coming mind year exams

then im thinking of outing in june
most probably bunk outing unless u all want something else
if chalet i dont think much people will go
